Details: This patient desired a more prominent chin and a more balanced profile. After some discussion, we decided on a chin implant to project the lower portion of his face and a neck lift to pull in the extra skin underneath his chin to showcase his new chin projection. After a month of healing, this patient now has a chin that complements the rest of his face and a more balanced profile.

Procedure: Chin Implant and Platysmaplasty (Deep Neck Contouring)

Details: This patient had been born with microgenia (or small chin) and desired more definition under her neck. Two procedures were performed to address this: a silastic chin implant as well as a platysmaplasty and deep neck contouring. These procedures were both performed with a small hidden incision under her chin. Care was taken not to overcorrect her chin with a too large of an implant, but at the same time large enough to provide a tangible result. Her contour is much improved, evidenced dramatically on the side views.
